Meet our Musical Team..

Artistic Director – Dr. Adam Adler (PhD, MMus, BEd, BMA) is an Associate Professor of Music Education at Nipissing University and Sessional Instructor in the Faculty of Education and School of Creative Arts at the University of Windsor. He previously served on full-time faculty at the University of Windsor and in the Crane School Music at SUNY Potsdam. His research interests include male gender issues and boys’ involvement in choral singing and music education, choral community and sustainability, music teacher preparation, music curriculum policy, voice and identity. Dr. Adler has conducted youth and adult choirs in school, church, community, and university contexts, and he is active as a clinician, adjudicator, composer, and arranger. He has served as conductor for the Ford Motor Company Chorus (Dearborn), Crane Men’s Ensemble and Crane Chorus (SUNY Potsdam), Just Singers (Toronto), University of Toronto Hart House Singers, and the Choir of Centenary United Church (Hamilton). In 2007, he established Near North Voices, a university-community choir for students, staff and faculty at Nipissing University and Canadore College and for members of the North Bay community. The choir facilitates much of Dr. Adler’s scholarly and creative work, and, in the absence of a curricular music program at Nipissing University, provides opportunities for continuing music education through the performance of challenging choral repertoire. Most recently Dr. Adler was appointed as Artistic Director of the County Classic Chorale in Leamington, ON.

He says, “I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the County Classic Chorale.” Mr. Oddy enjoys chess, college basketball and woodworking and resides in Windsor, Ontario with his partner Joanna and their dog “Sasha”. “
